Upscale interior, attentive staff started meal with drinks and appetizers grilled octopus, flaming saganaki, prawns, dip sampler all delicious. Lemon Chicken soup was a little on the salty side. Bucatini with Lobster was out of sight. Seated in upstairs dining area, great for large parties.
Stepping into this cool, blue-toned restaurant is like entering a tranquil oasis. The calming atmosphere is perfect for a meaningful meal with family and friends. We tried the Crispy Smelt (a refreshing change from our usual calamari), Burrata, and Seafood Paella. The Crispy Smelt was lightly battered and paired perfectly with jalapeños for a spicy kick. The Burrata, with its unique grilled peach pairing, was a delightful surprise. The Seafood Paella was a lighter take on the classic dish, with a flavorful clam broth and just the right amount of rice. If you're looking for a hidden gem, this place is a must-try!
Elia in Walnut Creek is THE BEST! I made reservations for dinner a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my wife's Birthday. When I called to make the reservation, they asked me what the occasion was, which I proceeded to say: "Celebrating my wife's Birthday"... little did I know, Elia was going to take this birthday dinner experience to the next level! When we arrived we were immediately escorted to our table and to our surprise, Elia has printed custom dinner menus (with my wife's name and a lovely Happy Birthday" on each menu/ every plate setting... a pretty sweet touch if you ask me. The food was delicious, the cocktails were amazing and the ambient was 10/10! Staff were incredible from the moment we walked in, to the money we walked out. I would highly recommend Elia for any special occasion. Definitely coming back!
Elia went above and beyond in creating a memorable dining experience, starting with a seamless booking and confirmation process. They paid attention to every detail, including noting the birthday celebration and even personalizing the menu with the celebrant's name--an elegant, thoughtful touch that set the tone for the evening. The mocktails were refreshing and well-crafted. For the main course, I chose the halibut with creamy asparagus risotto, a delightful dish highlighted by a bright citrus lemon flavor that complemented the rich, creamy texture perfectly. I also sampled the breaded zucchini, which was crisp, flavorful, and a standout on its own. The desserts at Elia were a true indulgence. We tried the lava cake, the coffee chocolate cake, and a phyllo roll filled with custard and served with berry sauce--all delicious in their own right. The birthday celebration was capped off with a sparkling candle and a piece of baklava, which was flaky, rich, and the perfect sweet finish. Elia's attention to detail and thoughtful touches made for a delightful evening, making it a wonderful choice for any special occasion.
Just wow it is very nice e environment respectful very beautiful way clean lovely area lovely environment Delicious
ELIA is an excellent spot for a great meal or a special occasion. We came here to celebrate our anniversary and enjoyed our dinner and drinks. The restaurant is well decorated and captures the Greek vibe. It was very busy on a Saturday night, even for our early dinner starting before 6:30pm. Towards the end of our meal, they even had a live DJ. The food here is fantastic, and we liked our cocktails & mocktails as well. Here's what we got: -Pikilia (4.5/5) A great combo of the 3 pita dips - tzatziki, melitzanosalata, and htipiti, served with pita and veggies. I wanted try all of them, so I'm glad they offered this! The tzatziki was our favorite of the 3. -Kokkinisto (5/5) The slow braised lamb shank is PHENOMENAL. The orzo goes perfectly with it. A must try dish. -Seafood Paella (4/5) Points for including a whole lobster tail. This was tasty, but I've also had better paella. A little salty. -Baklava (4/5) Comes with two pieces. Good but a bit dry and unsatisfying on it's own, I'd suggest ordering a scoop of ice cream to go with it, to feel more like a complete dessert. Mocktails: -Mykonos (4/5) Good, but I think I'd prefer it with a bit more syrup or flavor. -Waters of Nedas (4.5/5) If you like watermelon (like I do), this is delicious.
Had a chance to have lunch at Elia with a friend and really enjoyed it. I had a choice of an inside table or an outside table and on this particular afternoon I chose the inside. It is a Mediterranean style restaurant and they had blankets on each seat back Mediterranean style blanket hostess was Meagan on this day. On this particular day, I enjoyed a shrimp dish that was served sizzling hot in a skillet with vegetables and olives. I have to say it was quite good. They also serve fresh bread. My friend had the Brandino and told me that it was excellent as well and I can vouch for that as I tasted it. It was served with a salad. They had an extensive drink menu although on this day I had chamomile tea. My friend had an Arnold Palmer. There are quite a few restaurants so it would've been easy to miss but I'm glad I tried it and I look forward to going back again. I would recommend this restaurant to someone who likes Mediterranean food!
I was thrilled to finally get a reservation after eyeing for years. The atmosphere is absolutely charming, with a mini-Santorini feel that's both inviting and relaxing. We were seated 30 minutes early, and the service was impeccable. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. The food was everything I hoped it would be. The Bucatini Astakos was a standout, with perfectly cooked lobster and a flavorful sauce. If you're looking for a delightful dining experience, I highly recommend Elia!
Ambiance is nice, it reminds me of being in Greece, only noisy, but that's an American thing, not the fault of the restaurant. They seem to do cute things for birthdays. Hostess was very kind, service was great, there is always someone walking past the tables. We had the meatballs, zucchini cakes and octopus for appetizers. All were very good. For mains we had the lamb shank and halibut which were both delicious. For dessert we had the philo berry something and the lemon cheesecake. The presentation was good, the lemon cheesecake was better than the berry dish - overall we were surprised the dessert portions were small and not quite what we expected - they were pretty but expensive for what they were. The only negative was people from the bar started leaning on the divider wall between the tables and the bar and yelling as they spoke. Luckily this was at the end of our meal so we could leave. Overall fun cute place, would go again, but maybe sit outside or as a table of 4 to create some distance from the bar.
Came here on a Monday night for dinner. Made reservations but it was not busy and got seated right away. We ordered fried calamari, seafood paella, grilled octopus, feta and watermelon, a bottle of wine, and the pita bread with dip, and ended it with grilled pear dessert. I enjoyed mostly everything except the paella rice and feta with watermelon. Paella rice was not cooked evenly. Rice was wet and mushy outside and hard from the inside. Feta with watermelon was a weird mix and not my taste so I did not like it. Our waiter was very attentive and always checking up on us if we need anything. Overall, my friends and I enjoyed the food and it felt like we were in Greece with the esthetic decor.
